Jury work

Naomi has juried a variety of exhibitions and served on jury committees. These include multiple exhibits at Iowa Central Community College, the Octagon Center for the Arts, Design on Main (Iowa State University) and the Biorenewables Art Exhibition (Iowa State University.)

About evaluating artwork, she says:

“It is always a privilege to see what talented people can do, and an honor to share in their stories. When giving awards, I take into account the message of the work, whether it is responding to and sharing a personal story, or responding and interpreting the larger culture. I look for an effective concept, good technique, and excellent presentation.”
